Where it comes from
The story
The Moscow cargo that arrived on a mule. The Moscow Mule was born in 1941 at the Cock 'n' Bull Pub in Los Angeles, from the meeting of three people: John G. Martin (distributor of Smirnoff vodka), Jack Morgan (owner of the pub, with his ginger beer) and Sophie Berezinski (with her copper mugs). They combined their products in the copper mug: vodka, ginger beer and lime. And when a long-awaited shipment of vodka finally arrived carried by a mule, someone exclaimed: "The Moscow cargo has arrived on a mule!". Hence the name, and a worldwide icon.
