How to serve Mr. Bubbles cocktails

How to serve Mr. Bubbles cocktails
Shake. Pour. Enjoy.
Seven seconds and the cocktail is in the glass. Here's how to serve each of the 12: the glass, the ice, the quick garnish and the one that makes your guests turn their heads.
In three moves
No shaker, no measuring. The cocktail is already mixed: anyone can serve it, at home or behind the bar.
-
Shake
A few seconds, firmly. Go on and shake it, it won't take offence.
-

Pour
Into a 250 ml glass full of ice.
-

Garnish
A slice of citrus or a sprig of mint. Below, the right one for each cocktail.
Chilled or over ice
In a glass
From the fridge you can serve it straight away. At room temperature it's fine too, as long as you pour it over ice. If you're serving lots, keep them in a bowl full of ice: they stay fresh and look the part.

From the bottle
No glasses, at a party or on the beach: unscrew and drink, even with a straw. Best when well chilled.

Show-stopping garnishes
They're prepared ahead. When you serve, five seconds is enough, and the cocktail looks like it came straight from a cocktail bar.
Dried citrus
You'll need: oranges, limes or mandarins, an oven.
- Cut thin slices, about 3 mm, and dry them with kitchen paper.
- Lay them on baking paper, without overlapping.
- Fan oven at 80 °C for 3-4 hours, turning them halfway. They're ready when they're dry and not sticky.
- Let them cool and keep them in an airtight jar.
One tray lasts for weeks. When you serve, just rest one on the ice.
Spiral twist
You'll need: a lemon or orange, a peeler, a straw.
- With the peeler cut a long strip of peel, working around the fruit. The less white pith, the better.
- Wrap the strip tightly around a straw and hold it for a few seconds: it takes on the spiral shape.
- Slide off the straw. Before serving, twist the spiral over the glass: the oils in the peel scent the drink.
- Hang it on the rim or let it fall down the side of the glass.
They're prepared before the evening and kept in the fridge, covered with a damp cloth.
Slapped mint
You'll need: fresh mint, a glass of cool water.
- Pick the sprig at the top of the stem, the one with the smallest, prettiest leaves.
- Hold it in your palm and give it a sharp slap with your other hand.
- Push it into the ice next to the straw: whoever drinks smells the mint before the first sip.
Until it's time to serve, keep the sprigs standing in a glass of cool water, like flowers.
Half sugar rim
You'll need: caster sugar, a lime wedge, a small plate.
- Run the lime wedge along the outer rim, only halfway round.
- Turn the glass upside down and rest it in the sugar, turning it slightly.
- Turn it back over and shake off the excess sugar.
Only half a rim: anyone who doesn't want it drinks from the other side. Glasses can be prepared ahead and, kept dry, hold up for hours.
Ice cubes with fruit inside
You'll need: an ice cube tray, mint leaves, peel or berries.
- Put a mint leaf, a piece of peel or a berry in each cell.
- Fill with boiled water that has cooled: the ice comes out clearer.
- Freeze overnight.
Make them once and they last for days in the freezer. At the bar you use them like ordinary ice cubes.
Ginger on a stick
You'll need: fresh ginger, wooden picks.
- Peel the ginger with the edge of a teaspoon.
- Cut very thin slices, almost see-through.
- Thread three onto a pick and rest it across the glass.
They're prepared before the evening and kept in the fridge in a closed container.
Frequent questions
How do I serve a Mr. Bubbles cocktail?
Shake the bottle for a few seconds and pour it into a 250 ml glass full of ice: it's served in 7 seconds. If you like, add a garnish, a slice of citrus or a sprig of mint. The two Cosmopolitans, the Free° too, are served in a coupe, well chilled.
Does it need to be kept in the fridge?
The alcoholic cocktails don't: as long as they're closed they keep well in a cool, dry place away from light. The four alcohol-free Free° go in the fridge. When serving, either chilled from the fridge or at room temperature is fine, as long as you pour it over ice.
How long does it last?
The eight alcoholic cocktails last twelve months from production, the Free° two months. The date is printed on every bottle.
Can I drink straight from the bottle?
Yes. Unscrew and drink, even with a straw: it's the handiest way at a party, on the beach or wherever there are no glasses or ice. In that case it's best when well chilled.
Why do I need to shake it before serving?
A natural sediment forms at the bottom: a few seconds of shaking brings the cocktail back to how it was when freshly made.
What glass do I need?
A 250 ml long drink glass full of ice works for every cocktail except the two Cosmopolitans, the alcoholic one and the Free°, which are served in a coupe.
Why is the Moscow Mule served in a copper mug?
It's the Moscow Mule tradition, born with the cocktail. If you use a copper mug, choose one lined inside, in steel or nickel: bare copper shouldn't touch acidic drinks like lime. A glass full of ice works perfectly well too. Our Moscow Mule is made with freshly pressed ginger and lime.
How do you make dried citrus for cocktails?
Cut oranges, limes or mandarins into slices about 3 mm thick, lay them on baking paper and leave them in a fan oven at 80 °C for 3-4 hours, turning them halfway, until they're dry and not sticky. Once cool they keep for weeks in an airtight jar.
Do they contain allergens?
Americano contains sulphites. The label of the other cocktails shows no allergens. The ingredients of each one are on this page, when you open the cocktail.
